Overview
Aversion towards aspects of self and/or other is a normal part of our messy human existence. However, for some of us, aversion/non-acceptance of aspects of self and others damages our experience of life and can obstruct the path of healing.
In this course we’ll:
- find and examine these ‘points of aversion’
- see the causal and impersonal nature of these parts of self and other we don’t like
- examine, normalize, and work through our aversion itself
- develop compassion towards self and other
- and apply compassion toward that which we don’t like
This course draws from:
- Buddhist compassion meditation (Tong Len)
- Coherence Therapy (Bruce Ecker et al.)
- Mentalization Based Treatment.
Please note that this workshop is focused on experiential guided meditation plus some basic psycho education on compassion and acceptance.
This workshop is not psychotherapy or a substitute for it.
