Schema Therapy

Schemas are self-defeating core themes, emotional beliefs, predictions, or patterns about ourself and the world that we keep repeating throughout our lives. The aim of Schema Therapy is to disconfirm the schemas (negative self-beliefs) that cause us suffering and so render the related modes (compulsive behaviors) unnecessary.
